1. Our Role

Essex Locksmiths is a business directory. We do not provide locksmith services, dispatch engineers, accept emergency bookings or act as a party to agreements between customers and listed locksmiths.

Customers contact and engage locksmith businesses directly.

2. Using the Directory

Visitors may browse published listings and contact businesses directly. Information is provided to assist enquiries, not as a guarantee of availability, price, response time or suitability.

Users must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, submit misleading information or interfere with its operation.

3. Listing Eligibility

Applications are intended for genuine independent locksmith businesses based in Essex.

Applicants must provide accurate information about their identity, business location, contact details, services and trading arrangements.

National call centres, misleading intermediaries and businesses falsely claiming an Essex base are not eligible under our directory policy.

4. Applications and Approval

Submitting a listing does not guarantee publication. New applications are held for manual review.

We may request supporting evidence, decline an application, require corrections or remove a listing where we reasonably consider it inconsistent with our directory requirements.

Approval indicates that a listing has passed our directory review process. It is not professional accreditation or a guarantee of workmanship.

5. Free Listings

Basic directory listing applications are currently free. We may introduce optional paid features in future, but any charges and applicable terms will be disclosed before a purchase.

We do not guarantee listing placement, customer enquiries, search engine rankings or business revenue.

6. Responsibilities of Listed Businesses

Listed locksmiths are responsible for maintaining accurate details, complying with applicable laws, obtaining appropriate customer authorisation and providing their services professionally.

They are responsible for their own pricing, quotations, invoices, insurance, tax obligations, workmanship and customer agreements.

Businesses must not upload content they do not have permission to use.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers should confirm the locksmith’s identity, availability, experience, pricing, VAT treatment, call-out charges and scope of work before agreeing to a service.

Any contract for locksmith services is made directly between the customer and the locksmith business.

8. Reviews, Complaints and Corrections

We may investigate reports of inaccurate or misleading directory information and request evidence from relevant parties.

We may correct, suspend or remove listings where appropriate. We do not promise to resolve disputes about workmanship, payment or services provided by third-party locksmiths.

9. Website Availability and Accuracy

We aim to maintain accurate information and a functioning website, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every listing remains complete and current.

Services and availability may change without notice. Visitors should confirm important details directly with the listed business.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, quotations or services of independently operated locksmith businesses.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Nothing in these terms removes statutory consumer rights.

11. Intellectual Property

The directory’s original branding, design and website content may not be copied or republished without permission, except where permitted by law.

Applicants retain ownership of their submitted material but grant us permission to store, display and format it for operation and promotion of their directory listing while it remains authorised for use.

12. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the directory, its services or legal requirements. The current version will be published on this page.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that apply to users.
